James Corden, host of The Late Late Show and king of Carpool Karaoke, knows a thing or two about Grammys-night style. When he served as the master of ceremonies at last year's awards, his lineup of next-level suiting all but stole the show. With a little help from his stylist, Michael Fisher, Corden more than delivered an encore this time around in a series of looks from Tom Ford, Burberry, and Gucci.

Corden says designers who understand how to dress all sizes appeal to him the most. "I've always loved confidence and that's what I think fashion is ultimately," he explained via email. "It's difficult if you're bigger, like I am. You can feel forgotten in fashion." Still, Corden is quick to call out his favorites who create the designs that work so well in his wardrobe. "I think Tom Ford is the most beautiful and elegant designer in the world," he says. "Alessandro at Gucci has done something so extraordinary, he's changed my whole wardrobe. Alber Elbaz was my hero at Lanvin." But it is Burberry's now-departed Christopher Bailey who holds a special place in Corden's heart. "[The] first designer to ever see me as more than a chubby kid from a small village outside of London was Christopher Bailey," he recalls. "He saw me as talented and wanted to dress me for things and it kind of blew me away a bit." As fate would have it, Bailey himself reached out to Corden and Fisher to create a custom tuxedo in a bluish-black jacquard for the host to take down the red carpet last night.

Corden and Fisher kept the shades of blue going throughout the evening, which meant following up the opening look with a slick blue-on-blue suit from Tom Ford that was lifted right off the designer's runway. "[Michael] just instinctively knows what I will like," Corden said. "I sent him an email saying how much I loved Tom Ford's monochrome looks this season and he replied by saying, 'I've already asked for one for the Grammys!' " After changing into a Tom Ford dinner jacket with black tuxedo pants came the grand finale: a Gucci suit in midnight blue with a microdot effect and a motif of a heart with a sword at the back. "It's a salute to New York and the awards being held here after a long hiatus," Fisher said. "A true rock 'n' roll Gucci moment."

What's more, every look was punctuated with a white rose, worn in solidarity with the Time's Up movement, and customized with the help of floral designer Prospect NY. "Each year it has to relate to what's going on in the world and in the fashion community," explained Fisher. "All of these looks were considered for James to show his range from super formal, to slick, to edgy. James can do it all."
